Hasami Porcelain Bowl with Walnut Tray Lid (#2)
Hasami, Nagasaki is one of the foremost pottery districts in Japan. Porcelain was first made in the area almost 400 years ago, during the Edo Period, and was not only distributed all over Japan but also exported to Europe through the port of Nagasaki.
HASAMI PORCELAIN was born under the direction of Takuhiro Shinomoto of Tortoise (Venice, California), whose innovative concept integrates tradition and modernity in tableware.
The bowl with custom fit walnut tray is an attractive, contemporary piece that can be mixed and matched with a variety of tableware and has many other Hasami porcelain-ware that can be added to make a collection.
This bowl and tray 2-piece set is one of 2 pairs offered in the auction. Each pair is its own stand-alone piece, or all four pieces stack together to make for a delightful set to highlight any table.
