National was founded in 1908 and constructed with the assistance of Southampton engineer Seth Raynor.

The private 18-hole course covering 253 acres is located on Peconic Bay in the Town of Southampton, New York.

This first-class course incorporates many
of the better qualities of golf courses in the British Isles. Among the famous holes represented at National are the Road Hole and Eden from St. Andrews, Alps from Prestwick, Redan from North Berwick, and Sahara from Sandwich.

(Note: There are no restrictions before mid-June or after Sept. 1st, excluding holidays. From mid-June through July 31st, play is only allowed during the week. No play is permitted during the month of August. Dining and caddies not included.)
