BIO:

A Maryland native and resident of York for about 18 years, Carmen Walsh loves to experience beauty of all kinds. Creating photographic images is her favorite way to highlight the beauty of the world for others to notice and appreciate. Since 2012, Carmen has been showing and selling her photography art locally, including juried exhibits at Creative York, the York Art Association, and the Yorkfest fine arts festival, where she earned an Award of Distinction in 2015. Her images, which reveal her love of design and color, have also been sold in numerous other art galleries, boutique shops, and restaurants in Pennsylvania and Maryland. In 2016, she was thrilled to have a piece ("Dark Matter Spinning") chosen for a national juried photography show at the Delaplaine Arts Center in Frederick, MD. Her subject matter varies widely: from striking architecture and boating images to glorious nature scenes and fun animal portraits. In 2014, Carmen introduced her custom apparel line, featuring her images printed on fabric. The same year, she founded YorkPAstuff, to promote a positive image of York County, with its history of making, and representing more than 80 local artists and makers. She curated an all-York artist gallery at SMALL STAR Art House from its inception in March 2016 through June 2017.

ARTIST STATEMENT

I believe many of my images bring a sense of peace as well as adventure. I hope they bring a smile to your heart-and then you share that smile with someone else, making the world even more beautiful.
