Artist Bio:
Freddie Graves is a 2014 MFA graduate from Maryland Institute College of the Arts (MICA). Working throughout the Baltimore/York/Harrisburg areas. He focuses on 3 main means of expression:

Videography: Working on music videos to full length features provides Mr. Graves the opportunity to explore. His work examines the struggle inherent in relationships, the frailty of the mind and body, to campy fun and performances by local musicians. He completed a full length narrative feature film called "Division of Joy". He has created music videos for Southern Culture on the Skids and The Thing With Two Heads. His short film and Masters Thesis "I'm Beginning To Understand" explores his near death experience. His short film "The Healing 2" explores the trauma of enduring multiple medical procedures. With his YouTube series "Graves' Black Box", he invites musicians and poets into his back shooting space to perform original material. His latest project is a documentary film and docu-series entitled "Peeled", which tells the stories of a group of traveling showgirls who identify as Featured Performers.

Photography: Most of his photography stems directly from his near death experience in 2012. Nude distorted human figures presented as a dysmorphic mosaics; projection techniques; and single light source photography, with completely black backgrounds, allow the figures absorb and emanate the light within and without.

Rustic Furniture: Using reclaimed and recycled materials, he attempts to make pieces that are functional and that question the over-processing present in our consumer goods.
