"Pink Dogwood" 11X15
Original colored pencil prints by late Hamden-based artist, Sid Weinbach (unframed, preserved in wrap).
A completely self taught artist, Sid Weinbach started in commercial art after playing professional baseball in the minor leagues for 6 years.Upon retiring from commercial art, he and his wife moved to Boone in western North Carolina. In 1992, Sid took up the hobby of comprehensive drawing. Continuing to work in pencil, he finds it a pleasant challenge to detail the landscapes, flowers, etc. of his home area in the beautiful mountains.Other drawings are inspired by scenes encountered in travels to other parts of the United States as well as Europe. Sid passed away peacefully on February 16, 2006 . It was his
hope that he would live on through his artwork. A celebration of his life was held on July 2, 2006 in Boone , NC . In his memory, pine trees and wild flowers have been planted from Maine to Georgia.
