Photographer's Bio: Jesus Emmanuel is a native Puerto Rican artist who decided to pursue photography after he became an amputee after an accident in 2010. He is a member of the Bronx Photo League at the Bronx Documentary Center and is a portrait photographer. Jesus has created photographic work documenting social issues affecting his Bronx community, as well as his hometown in Puerto Rico. Together with the Bronx Photo League, his work was in the exhibition and book Jerome Avenue Workers Project in 2015. His project in Puerto Rico, Mi Escuelita Yo La Quiero con Amor, which was published by The New York Times Lens Blog in 2016.
