Title: Everleigh

Artist: Ellie Noll

Medium: Acrylic Paint

Dimensions: 8"x10"

Animal depicted is Everleigh.

Artist Statement: Inspiration: Name means "bear in meadow" so I wanted to paint her in a beautiful meadow to show her warm/bright future, opposite of her cold/dark beginning.

Between rescues this last winter we were contacted by St. Clair County Animal Control. A gentleman had died and left his dog behind. Either the family of the deceased were unaware that he had a dog or had left her to die in a crate; alone and starving. We called her Everleigh. She weighed exactly the same as Hadley when she arrived, a mere 23 pounds. Due to her condition, Everleigh was unable to stand on her own, her frail body could not even support what little weight she had. After she arrived at the rescue, the amazing, supportive Stray Rescue community helped her heal and get back onto her feet. She walks today for her, and her late dad.

Everleigh is still at Stray Rescue, waiting for her forever family!
