Animal Depicted is Clide.

Our dispatch team received a report in March 2021 of a dog wandering near a highway that looked like he desperately needed help. After getting him to our trauma center it was apparent he had a severe prolapsed rectum. He was taken immediately to a specialty hospital to receive a surgery which proved to be long and difficult. He made it through surgery, but sadly did not make it through the night. He went into respiratory arrest. CPR was administered but his heart would not respond. His colon had been severely damaged and it became too much for Clide to overcome. He had the very best surgeons and best care we could have ever given him.

We are broken hearted but have found comfort in knowing he was pain free from the second he was carried into our shelter. He loved to be held and kissed. Before he arrived Clide had suffered for days on the streets, all alone. But when he passed he wasn't all alone, in pain, or scared, and we're so grateful to have been able to give him that gift. Clide deserved the chance to live a beautiful life, we just hope he knew how much we loved him in the short time we got with him.
