Oh my gosh. We received photos of this little soul and our hearts sank. We were told she had a broken jaw, but it was hard to tell what exactly was going on in the pictures. She was going to be euthanized, but Cassady, our Executive Director, saw the photos and knew this little puppy deserved a fighting chance. We'll do everything we can to help her because that is who we are.

Later that day she arrived in our trauma center and we couldn't believe our eyes. This tiny, sweet little puppy that we named Sunflower was literally broken. We gave her fluids and pain medication to help her be comfortable. After taking x-rays, we could see her jaw was crushed under her eye socket and smashed across her face, and literally hanging out of her mouth. This could be from being hit by a car, or hit with something else, but we just don't know. Specialty jaw surgeons looked at her x-rays and believed they could fix it! We asked the community to rally around this little puppy and help us raise the funds we needed. Because of you, she was able to get her surgery! Meanwhile, one of our Vet Techs fell in love with and adopted her. When she's done growing she will need another surgery, but is doing great.
