Title: Honoring Coco PR's Legacy
Artist: Mark Swain
Medium: Acrylic
Dimensions: 24"x36"
Animal depicted is Coco PR.
Coco is a sweet little lady who came to Stay Rescue all the way from Puerto Rico. Arthritis, age, and a neurological disorder have mad her hind legs barely mobile but that doesn't cause her to skip a beat. When she first arrived at the Shelter last winter she was a little cranky, but anyone would feel cranky transitioning from tropical weather to a midwest winter. Coco braved the winter and blossomed socially in the warm spring weather as consistent exercise, good food, and proper medication helped her get stronger physically. Her true colors began to shine as she got stronger.
A very independent woman, Coco refuses the assistance of wagons, wheelchairs, and harnesses to help her get around. She loves exploring at her own pace. Coco also loves to communicate! She will bark to let you know when she's hungry, when she wants to go outside, or when she just wants some attention.
Although she's had some tough times in her life, Coco has found a loving foster family who appreciates her little quirks and big personality. Coco's adverse past taught her how to survive, thankfully now she gets to thrive.
