Title: Double Dew

Artist: Sara Wessels

Medium: Oil on Canvas

Dimensions: 20"x24"

Animal depicted is Double Dew

Double Dew was found being attacked by other dogs over some food on the street. And he got his name after his double dew claws on his back legs. The moment he arrived at Stray Rescue, our training team had their eyes on him. He would make a great candidate for our Puppies for Parole Program. This incredible program allows us to send dogs to prisons to live and work with offenders. The offenders who are selected to train the dogs are given an opportunity to give back to the community and can relate to the dogs that - like them - are also in need of a second chance. The dogs love all the great training, socialization, and one-on-one attention they get during their three month stay.

Double Dew graduated from the program with flying colors. He also passed his AKC Canine Good Canine Test, earning CGC credentials behind his name and has been certified as a Therapy dog through Bright and Beautiful Therapy Dogs recognized by the AKC. He gets to work with his mom every day and brightens the lives of their clients. What a wonderful journey!
