Title: Breakfast Buffet

Artist: Donna Lochmann

Medium: Digital Photograph with repurposed window

Dimensions: 16.5" x 21"

I was almost finished feeding and getting ready to head back when I saw a skinny, nursing dog. She just kept going from place to place looking for food. She wouldn't even stay still long enough to find the piles of food I was leaving. I followed her up and down a couple streets for probably 45 minutes before she finally had circled back to one of my piles. Now that she had a full belly I was hoping she would lead me to her puppies. And she did just that. I watched her cut through several yards, across an open field, behind some houses and she popped back out front. She walked right up some steps and onto a porch. Just about the time she got there, the door opened and the owner let her in.

I'm not sure what bothered me more - the fact that she was starving and nursing puppies or that the "owner" let her out to roam so she could find her own breakfast.
