Title: If I Come Out………

Artist: Donna Lochmann

Medium: Digital Photograph with repurposed window

Dimensions: 20" x 28"

While out looking for a dog that had been reported to be in the area for weeks, I spotted a couple of dogs running a fence line with an owned dog. One of the two, was actually the dog I had been looking for. The other was this beautiful Cattle Dog that I had never seen before. Both dogs were a bit stand-offish. I only had one trap with me, but the plan was to try to get both dogs. I set my trap and got the black dog almost instantly. At first, the Cattle Dog seemed a little less nervous, but now seemed more interested in roaming around and sniffing everything he could. It was frigid cold and snowing, but he didn't seem to even notice. He wandered off to a tree line in an open field. I went looking, but it was as if he just disappeared. I hate when the rescue doesn't go as I hoped, but I had to settle with the fact that at least one of them was now warm and no longer on the street. I continued looking for this dog when I would feed, but sadly I have never seen him again.
