Animal(s) depicted are Snowy Susan & Family

If you look closely at this photo, you will notice mom in the shadow of the doorway. I've been seeing this blond girl for a couple of years. The woman who claims to "own" her has told me not to feed her because I am "domesticating her dog." This woman has even walked over to a pile of food while the dog is eating and kick it away. I've seen this poor girl have a couple litters of puppies, and the two dogs standing on the porch in the snow are actually siblings from her last litter. Both are females and will likely have litters of their own if they stay out on the streets. There is one other sibling, also female, who isn't in the photo. All claim to be owned by this woman although they roam the streets.

Since this photo was taken, mom has had another litter and so has one of the daughters. The puppies, once old enough, have been seen playing in her front yard. She was asked if she needed help with the animals but she refused, so the cycle will just continue.

I'll keep my eye on these dogs, and yes, continue to feed them. For now, at least one sibling has been rescued off the street. She's now in a loving home and is treated as a family member - just as she should be. It's nice to be able to picture her lying on a couch, sound asleep and not out in a snow storm with snow frozen in her fur.
