"He's on my property, and I'm going to shoot him if you don't come get him!"

Our rescue dispatch team takes some of the hardest phone calls imaginable, and the call they received about Sir Attenburough was one of those. When we arrived at this particular scene we found a beautiful shepherd hiding behind the caller's house. We could tell he was very fearful, but Donna talked sweetly to him and inched closer while offering her secret weapon: vienna sausages. The dog was hesitant at first, but he let her approach him and put on a leash. When he stood up, we were shocked. His rear leg was just a bloody stump - to this day we still don't know what happened to his foot. He was still trying to walk on it which was incredibly painful for him. We chose the name Sir Attenburough because his rescue took place on Earth Day.

He had the rest of his leg amputated and instantly he felt better. At only about one year old, he became so playful and started showing us his happy, puppy self! He loved us so much and became such a confident boy.
