Cheerleading with Community Connections is free of charge to the families of children with special needs. This program is open to children ages 4-18. Currently Community Connections has two different cheer programs.
The Conway Showstoppers Cheerleading is a program that gives kids the opportunity to cheer on a squad with peers and highlight their individual abilities. The kids participate in cheer clinics to learn routines and then perform at competitions/venues in various cities across central Arkansas. Performances may include TOP Soccer & RUFL Football games as well as local and regional cheer competitions.
The Sherwood Cheerleading program is a pilot program that will give the kids an opportunity to learn the fundamentals of cheering on a squad with peers that will promote teamwork, social skills, and highlight their individual abilities. This program will meet weekly and will perform at the RUFL Football game at the UCA Football Stadium.
The Russellville Cheerleading is a program that runs within the Russellville Basketball Program that gives kids the opportunity to cheer on the sidelines while the basketball program is in session. The kids will learn skills such as chants, cheers, and jumps with basic stunting skills.
