Dear Golfers:

I hope you had a fun day on the course. Thank you to the sponsors, golfers and guests who joined us for the 18th Annual People's Light Golf Classic. We had more participants today than we have had in years, with your help.

This annual event benefits our Arts Discovery education programs. As a cultural and civic center with theatre at its core, People's Light seeks to engage with people of all ages and backgrounds, including young people from the five counties surrounding the Theatre. Through these programs we bring the benefits of theatre to 8,000 children and teens annually with a focus on student connection, opportunity for self-discovery, and life-long learning.

Your involvement today helps us continue these activities on Zoom, outdoors, and in other creative ways until we can gather safely with students in theatre and classrooms.

Thank you again. I hope to see you for a virtual or outdoor People's Light event in the coming months, and in one of our theatre spaces soon as it's possible.

HELP SUPPORT ARTS DISCOVERY EDUCATION PROGRAMS at PEOPLE'S LIGHT

This People's Light tradition benefits theatre education programs for young people. All contributions support Arts Discovery, which includes Theatre School, in-school and in-community residencies, student matinee performances and New Voices program for students for the city of Chester.

These initiatives help us bring world-class theatre education opportunities to more than 8,000 young people across five Philadelphia-area counties.

As part of our suite of Theatre School classes for ages 5-18, our Saturday Dance Days take our youngest students and their adults outdoors for family-friendly and socially-distanced offerings every weekend in October 2020. In addition to leading stretching and simply choreography patterns from a wide variety of dance styles, Teaching Artist Daniella Brown's classes often feature a freestyle "freeze dance" as seen in this video.
