Brown-Eyed Susan (Rudbeckia triloba)

Brown-Eyed Susan light up the summer garden with a profusion of golden-yellow daisies blooming from late summer until hard frost. It can grow up to 5' tall and makes an excellent cut flower. Flower petals were ground by Native Americans and made into a tea used for a variety of ailments. It was also used as a wash for snakebite, burns, and open wounds. Brown-Eyed Susan flowers are highly attractive to butterflies in summer and seed-eating songbirds in fall.
