The Carpenter Shop is one of the first buildings that visitors see when they arrive at Great Camp Sagamore. Please help us make a strong first impression.
Built in 1897, today we use this building for public demonstrations and, as our predecessors did, for boat building, restoration, and paddle making. Though we have moved ours to the Barn, the workers of the past also enjoyed many late nights of dancing in this building
Fully restoring the building requires repairing and re-glazing the windows, repairing the siding, reinforcing the foundation, and re-staining.
A donation of $8,000 will allow us to re-stain the entire building. An additional $8,000 donation will allow us to complete the entire project.
This is a difficult project to undertake while guests are in camp, so we would like to take advantage of our closed season by completing it this summer.
