An original carving, " Richard Collins-First Supervisor of Sagamore," by nationally known Adirondack wood carver Rick Bütz . The 6" work shows Richard Collins Sr., superintendent of Sagamore Lodge for A.G. Vanderbilt and later his widow Margaret, holding a ledger book under one arm inscribed "Sagamore Lodge 1902-1924" to represent his years at Sagamore. Richard's other hand holds a rifle commemorating the Collins family story of his marksmanship competition with Alfred. Rick Bütz is the recipient of Wood Carving Illustrated, 2004 Woodcarver of the Year Award. This original woodcarving is the perfect addition to any collection of memorabilia from the Gilded Age of Great Camp Sagamore. (Thank you! Gary Delemester, Great Camp Sagamore Emeritus)
