Circa 1900 Arts & Crafts exterior wall lantern. This copper lantern would be right at home at any lakeside camp. This piece of handwork exemplifies work done by The Stickley workshops or Elbert Hubbard at The Roycrofter's Arts and Crafts Colony in East Aurora, NY. Key features: ripple glass panels, made entirely of copper with years of "natural" patination on wonderful hand riveted construction-some errant paint specks and a few minor dings to the copper, with original copper wall shroud and iron wall mounting bracket. The Arts & Crafts movement is alive in this piece with the conical top with its 4 pyramidal " vents " and the " smoke bell" which shrouds the lower lamp body from the weather. Both of these decorative elements harken back to medieval styles- design elements in the English and American Arts & Crafts movements. Height 14.25" Bottom opening diameter is 4.5".
