Formerly a cult darling, Austin Hope has easily burst into the wine-drinking consciousness of America. Last year they were named to the Wine Enthusiast "TOP 100" list.

Scattered Peaks is a bit of a scrappy newcomer to the Big Napa Cab society. They have yet to achieve any status, as 2017 is only their second vintage. The wine is exactly what you'd expect of a Napa Cabernet, so they have a good chance of getting noticed and staying there.

Scattered Peaks offers intense black and red fruit aromas bolstered by hints of mountain sage and a touch of anise. On the palate, dark brooding fruit flavors of black cherry and cassis mingle with essence of black licorice and violets as well as espresso and dark chocolate notes. Firm and silky tannins and a touch of vanilla support the long, lingering finish of this classic Napa Valley Cabernet.

Deep ruby in color, the 2018 Austin Hope Cabernet Sauvignon expresses aromas of fresh black currants and cherries accompanied by subtle smoky notes and dried spices. On the palate, this lavish powerful wine is layered with juicy blackberry, ripe cherry, vanilla bean, and brown butter. It's full-bodied and rich, balanced by a touch of bright acidity and firm polished tannins.
