The Atlantic Beach Police Department is offering the opportunity to go behind the scenes on patrol with their agency in areas not normally offered to the public.

1. The winning bidder will get to ride with an Officer in the Patrol Division to see what officers do each day in Atlantic Beach answering citizens calls for service, conducting traffic stops and investigating crimes.
2. As an area not normally offered as a ride-along, the winning bidder will ride with the ABPD Marine Unit to patrol waters around city parks and the Florida Paddling Trails system that connects them.
3. As a third part of the experience the recipient will have an opportunity to ride with an Officer on ATV patrol to see how officers work on the beachfront and in our nature parks to provide safety and security in Atlantic Beach recreational areas.

The winner will also receive a commemorative ABPD coffee mug with a Department Challenge coin and a photo with each officer in the patrol vehicle they rode in that day.

The winner must:

• Complete the Ride A Long Application
• Be 18 years or older
• Have no felony convictions or outstanding warrants, no pending criminal charges or misdemeanor convictions for a period of five years from the last conviction/incident
• Must read, understand, and sign the Ride A Long Program Rules, the Ride A Long Program Release Form, and the Security Awareness Acknowledgement form.

The Ride A Long will last between 6-8 hours and can be scheduled from 8 am and conclude no later than to 4 am.

Ride A Long participants must wear an approved n95 mask during the ride a long and be checked for a fever using the department electronic thermometer prior to the Ride A Long beginning.

The Ride A Long certificate will be valid for one (1) year after winning the bid.
