Three years ago, I walked through the doors of Jackson Hole Therapeutic Riding for the first time. I didn't know then how it would change my life, but I'm so glad it did! I am eternally grateful for the opportunity to work with an incredible group of women, to serve alongside so many selfless volunteers, and to teach and learn from our resilient participants.

As an organization, JHTR is committed to empowering ability. It is a place FULL of wonder, and my heart grows at least three sizes with each class I teach. It is such an incredible honor and privilege to watch the relationship between horse and rider, a relationship that is nearly unexplainable. Our horses are the catalyst for growth for our participants--growing physically, mentally, and emotionally. I have seen the joy on the face of a child who typically maneuvers the world from a wheelchair, sitting tall and strong above us on the back of a horse. I have heard a rider who had previously only communicated nonverbally speak their first words. I have watched a teenager who has endured trauma soften as they build a relationship with their horse, their confidence and self-worth soaring with each ride. What a gift it is to witness these moments, knowing that these impacts are true and lasting.

In a world that is scary, confusing, and uncertain--may we remember that there is still good in this world. For myself and so many others, much of that "good" is found right here at Jackson Hole Therapeutic Riding (even though it looks a little different this year!) I hope you will consider supporting our organization in any way you are able, so that we are able to continue serving this inspiring community for years to come.
