Team Chance of Reyn

My involvement with JHTR began 10 years ago when I volunteered to be a side walker and horse leader. I had done this in New Zealand for a year so that I could work with horses while I was there. It wasn't long before I fell in love with the program. When I came back to the Jackson area I was very busy and it took a couple of years before I decided I could stay away no longer. In the last ten years I have had the joy to work with riders who are challenged in so many ways. I have seen a rider that was non-verbal and in a chair most of her life, with very little control of her muscles. She worked so hard to be able to ride across our indoor arena on her own without leaders or side walkers. She did it and the smile that lit up her face will live with me for ever. She and the wonderful horse Cowboy that allowed her to achieve her goal is what make this program so unique. There are so many stories I could tell like hers and the horses that help make it possible. The dedicated staff, volunteers, riders and horses' have but one purpose, what is possible and how can they help.

Because of current global circumstances JHTR is not able to hold its annual" Stomping the Divots" as an in person fundraiser held every August that raises the bulk of our funding for the year. So this year our one day polo match and festivities will be transformed into a" Pivot Not Divot" campaign, including a live virtual event. The event is free to attend, and that anyone anywhere can participate!
