"At a Bend in a Mexican River" by George Miksch Sutton, 1972 hardcover, missing dust jacket. Beautiful prints and interesting story of early birding in remote Mexican regions of the 1940s. "Collecting" birds is mentioned in this book but it was a different time and one can be happy about the strides we have made in today's birding.

Phelps, Jr. details nearly 1,300 species with 40 color plates along with 13 black & white plates. 1978 Edition softcover. This book is not in the best condition but at this price you could tear the plates out and use them as your bird guide when you get the chance to travel to Venezuela!
