2015 CS Grand Vin The 'Grand Vin' from Kapcsándy is utterly captivating in this vintage. This wine was aged in 88% new French oak, and also utilized a touch of Hungarian oak. The nose imparts striking aromatics of crème de cassis, wild blackberries, violets and hints of chocolate all taking shape in the glass. The overall structure and mouthfeel is simply marvelous, as it beautifully coats the mid-palate. This continues to impress as flavors of ripe blackberries, huckleberries, black tea and anise flavors all beautifully combine together.

The 2016 'Roberta's Reserve' is a total knockout in this vintage from Kapcsándy. Composed of 100% Merlot this begins with seductive aromas of blackberries and blueberries along with fresh violets and sweet spices and earthy mineral accents all taking shape. On the palate this possesses a medium to full body with gorgeous soft, velvety tannins that are beautifully polished, yet also provide plenty of structure. It displays outstanding overall balance and concentration, This is a total gem from Kapcsándy and already has so much to offer, however readers will still want to let this age for at least a few more years before approaching.- historic Beringer Estate State Lane vineyard that had been the home base of that company's Private Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon program.
