Opened in 1970, the original 2,000 square foot Little Miss Muffin was located across the street from its current location in the heart of downtown Lakeview, New Orleans. Two generations and 45 years later, we have blossomed from our Hallmark and Russell Stover roots to our current 6,000 square feet upscale boutique. The family enterprise that is Little Miss Muffin first evolved to incorporate gifts with flare, bath products, traditional and contemporary home accents, ladies fine nightwear, and a spattering of artwork. When the owner Monique's son, Oliver, was born in 1994, she found herself with the same complaint she had heard from her friends who had boys. Clothing stores with racks and racks of darling things for girls would only have one tiny rack for boys. Monique, like her grandmother, still carries traditional children's clothing lines such as Feltman Brothers and Paty, but has since added bigger sizes and sassy lines ranging in size from infant to tween.

After being hit by Hurricane Katrina, we launched our shop on Metairie Road, a location still open today. But it was always important to get the Harrison Avenue store reopened right away. One of the first businesses to resume operations in Lakeview, we have grown right along with the ever-changing, ever-flourishing downtown Lakeview neighborhood. After the hurricane, Monique diversified the store's selection again by adding a wider array of gifts, furniture, china, women's clothing and shoes, jewelry, more children's clothing, and artwork by local artists. Indeed, we have a special place in our heart for Gulf Coast artists and carry original pieces from several local talents, many of which are exclusive to or originally launched at Little Miss Muffin.

Over the last few years, Monique has additionally focused more on providing value driven brands that give back, such as Fleur de Light and Repurposing NOLA. At Little Miss Muffin we also frequently host children's parties, fundraisers, special events, and trunk shows to give back to our community and help support the artists and causes close to our heart (Learn more about what inspires us, here).

It may sound cliche but we want to offer our customers one-stop gift shopping. At Little Miss Muffin you can pop by to grab a contemporary house warming gift, child's birthday present, and some knock-out accessories for yourself, and have them wrapped up and ready to go. We want our customers to know that we may be bigger now, but we're still the same place where you can bring your kids, shop, visit, and feel at home.
