$375About the Item
Teresa Kiplinger's "Tiny Catastrophe" collection is a limited series of modern memento mori pieces that explore the fragility of existence and our desire to prevent, explain, and control the uncontrollable.

The ring's face measures approximately 1" in diameter. Size 7.

Forged Bronze Serving Utensils
$385About the Item
These serving utensils were forged from solid bronze and are finished with natural beeswax and oil. Each utensil measures approximately 10" long.
About the Artist
"As a blacksmith, I work with metals at temperatures that render them soft, malleable and plastic. I use simple hand tools - hammer and anvil - that haven't changed substantially for hundreds, if not thousands, of years. Thus, the challenge I face daily in my studio is to create something new out of the old. This can be literal - re-using salvaged materials, for instance, or it can be figurative - a recombination of old techniques, creating new and original forms. The constant thread in my work is always the clear expression of the forging process used to transform raw, untouched material into a fully realized, finished piece."

Keum Boo Oval Drop Dangles
$385About the Item
Artist Barbara McFadyen is fascinated with the meditative process and alchemy of the ancient Korean technique of Keum Boo. Each piece is made with hand embossed fine silver, whose patterns are then accentuated with 24kg through the bonding process of Keum Boo. A rich burgundy and blue chemical patina is applied and sealed for the final finish. Her work is inspired by the beauty she find in the details and geometric patterns of nature. The embossed pattern in these earrings reminds her of reflections of leaves floating on a pond on a late summer day.
About the Artist
An accomplished metalsmith and enamelist, as well as an inventive book artist, Barbara McFadyen has been producing unique, wearable forms for over four decades in precious metals, stones, and vitreous enamel. Much of her work focuses on humankind's relationship with nature, a subject she explores in her jewelry and unique artists' books. However, her vision of nature is filtered and transformed by her awareness of diverse cultural traditions.
McFadyen was first introduced to enameling at Kulicke-Stark Academy in New York and continued later studies with master enamelists Bill Helwig, Martha Banyas, Jamie Bennett, Linda Darty, and Mi-Sook Hur. Her work is in the collection of The Enamel Arts Foundation and the Mint Museum. She has become nationally recognized through competitive juried exhibitions such as the Enamelist Society's International Alchemy Exhibitions, where she has twice been a prize winner.

About the Artist
Anna Johnson is a studio artist, craftswomen and educator residing in Asheville, NC. At a very young age she stumbled upon jewelry making and from then on it became not only her creative outlet, but a space of untampered personal expression that guided her through her educational, professional, and personal development. Equally taken by the depths of the natural world, organic elements began to be her main source of inspiration as her language in jewelry developed.
Today her work revolves around the question of where and why our culture perceives value by creating jewelry - often used to display worth, lineage, cultural hierarchy, believe affiliations, etc - with raw elements from directly from the natural world, unique and unpretentiously beautiful, in efforts of providing a fresh line of visual communication, a display of acknowledgment, consciousness, and in alliance with our natural world.
