John A. Daly, South Suburban College Board of Trustees
In Memoriam
John A. Daly served as a member of the SSC Board of Trustees since 1991. He passed away while still in office on November 11, 2021.
John became the Board's Vice-Chairman in 1994 and served as Chairman of several Presidential Search Committees. As Vice-Chair, he lead SSC's ongoing efforts to improve programs and services while maintaining affordability and a stable tax rate. John was a strong advocate for students and a champion of the college's Oak Forest Center. He was also a generous supporter of the SSC Foundation.
John was recently selected to receive a service award from the Illinois Community College Trustees Association (ICCTA), which will be presented posthumously.
John is survived by his wife Susan and five children. He will be dearly missed by countless colleagues, employees, students and friends from his many years of graceful leadership at SSC.
