This 24" x 20" Robert Blehert painting of Nat King Cole is titled, "Holiday Spirit".

  • Nat King Cole grew up in Chicago, attending Wendell Phillips Academy High School in Bronzeville, the school Sam Cooke attended a few years later. He also participated in Walter Dyett's music program at DuSable High School. Cole would sneak out of the house to visit clubs, sitting outside to hear Louis Armstrong, Earl Hines, and Jimmie Noone. As an American singer and jazz pianist, Cole recorded over 100 songs that became hits on the pop charts.
