Every auction or estate sale event has one show stopping centerpiece, and our St. Paul's Fall 2020 Bazaar auction has one too. This exceptionally fine pair of labeled and numbered Wallace Nutting (1861 - 1941) Windsor fan chairs are true American treasures.

Wallace Nutting was an antiquarian, an accomplished author, lecturer, furniture maker, landscape photographer, antiques expert, and collector. His work is in museum collections and the finest homes in our country. In short, he is a big, big deal. He even has a fan club devoted to his life and work.

These chairs are in pristine condition with their original finish. The original labels are underneath each chair, and they are both numbered.

If you are interested in learning more, just Google Wallace Nutting and you will be able to find an online treasure trove of information about him, including videos discussing him, his life, work, and furniture workshop.

Interestingly enough, there is an online Wallace Nutting Collectors Club virtual convention via Zoom, smack dab in the middle of our online Bazaar period. It is from 6 pm until 10 pm on Friday, October 23. If you are interested in learning more, just Google it, or access it through the Wallace Nutting Collectors Club website. (Pre-registration is required.)

The opening bid for this pair of chairs is $600. Anyone wanting to view them in person to verify condition, numbering or labels, should contact St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Beaufort, North Carolina.
