Elmore Nickelberry stands defiant and proud much like he did forty years ago during the Memphis' Sanitation Workers Strike in protest of the death and treatment of fellow workers. Bearing a sign that declare equal treat forty years ago, his son, Terrence Nickelberry carries his father's legacy. Both Nickelberrys are still working for the Memphis Sanitation Department. Statement for Selection: The "I AM A MAN" project was a watershed moment that has drained my style of photojournalism into the basin of multi-media. The images are strong, truthful, and insightful, not only to our nation's past but also to its future. 40 years after the strike, we, as a nation, have witness the death of a King and the fulfillment of the promise that 'all men are created equal.'

24x20" Framed, signed.
