Bill Sarni | Common Tern Decoy
Folk artist Bill Sarni is well known for his outstanding decoy carvings. Each bird is captured in meticulous detail. Bill hails from Hingham, Massachusetts, a town that is home to a dynasty of decoy carvers. These local legends, as well as the songbirds, ducks, and shorebirds near Bill's home on the Weir River Estuary, inspire Bill's work. Bill has been honored by Early American Life magazine. This carving shows a pair of common terns, a local bird to Nantucket, sitting majestically on a piece of driftwood.

Painted wooden decoy, 13" x 13" x 9"
