MADS ANDERSON currently owns and operates Studio 906 in Omaha, NE. His paintings involve a delicate balance between imagination and the unknown. His interest in art developed at an early age when he would sit on his uncle's lap and watch him paint. After college, Anderson moved to New York where he worked as a freelance artist for Viacom. During this period, he was able to study other artists and techniques which would later serve as a great source of inspiration for his paintings. Eventually, Anderson returned to Nebraska and delved into his art, focusing mainly on abstracts and developing his signature style. Through his paintings and sculptures Anderson seeks to address the duality of the sameness of everyday life and the underlying reality that "anything - and everything - can change in an instant." Anderson combines color, pattern and line into fluidly dynamic compositions in which each stroke and mark - no matter how small and apparently inconsequential - is unequivocally integral to the whole. Each part speaks to another, each one echoing, answering, questioning and provoking endless responses and counter responses. Anderson has exhibited nationally and his work was featured on the Sunset Strip for the Gibson GuitarTown project and the Mr. Brainwash Art Show in Hollywood, CA, in addition to multiple local charity auctions and fundraisers. Anderson earned a BFA from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
