This commemorative pollinator house was created by Conserving Carolina staff member Torry Nergart. Pollinators are a fascinating and diverse group of animals- with over 4,000 native bee species alone (Xerces Society). Most of those species do not live in hives, but rather have solitary lives, and perform the majority of pollination of our food crops. These houses give solitary bees, wasps and mason bees homes to raise their broods. The house is made from lumber and locally sourced natural materials that provide ideal habitat for pollinators. The shingles are Conserving Carolina boundary markers. A unique piece, this pollinator house would make a wonderful addition to your garden, yard, or meadow!
