Here is a priceless experience unavailable to the public!

Anvil Rock Cottage is a very rustic, but wonderful cabin on Grandfather Mountain. The cabin, circa 1949, features a rough-hewn wood ceiling, flagstone floor, and a view of Linville Peak. It takes its name from the top-heavy boulder that makes up its far wall. Hugh Morton, the renowned photographer and nature conservationist who owned and developed Grandfather Mountain, invited his good friend, Kuralt, to stay at his cabin where he would write a good portion of his book, Charles Kuralt's America.

Here is your chance to have the cabin for a two-night stay and the mountain to yourselves. The cabin is one room plus a bathroom. It includes two twin beds, fireplace, kitchenette & dining table.

Use of the cabin includes free passes to Grandfather Mountain. As an added bonus, one of the parks naturalists will give you a personal guided tour of the parks six native wildlife habitats. Scheduling is subject to availability.
