UMLAUF Torchbearers is a Membership level designed for those interested in supporting and being a part of the creative community of Austin. The UMLAUF Torchbearers are named for Charles Umlauf's sculpture, THE TORCHBEARERS, on permanent view at the University of Texas at Austin campus. A scale model of this work is on view in our Garden. THE TORCHBEARERS display exaggerates muscles that emphasize speed and athleticism as one runner passes the torch to another. Our UMLAUF Torchbearers represent an important community of innovators in the Austin art scene. As both the bearers and receivers of "the arts torch," they are leaders in the next generation of arts advocates.
