Paeonia lactiflora 'Bu-Te' / Size: #15 pot

'Bu-Te' is a Japanese-flowered herbaceous peony, noted for its uniquely large, golden central staminodes, surrounded by 2 to 3 rows of ivory white guard petals. Flowers bloom mid-to-late-season and are mildly fragrant. An upright, sturdy plant, growing to 36" that does not require staking. Introduced in 1954 by C.F. Wassenburg, a nurseryman of Ohio, from crossing the Japanese 'Tamate Boku' x 'Isani Gidui'. American Peony Society Gold Medal winner. This peony was propagated from NYBG's own Matelich Anniversary Peony Collection.
