Begonia cf. sizemoreae / Size: 5" POT

Many familiar garden begonias are natives of subtropical Central America and Africa but in recent years, plant hunting expeditions to South East Asia have introduced some amazing and exotic plants. This native Vietnamese begonia was recently discovered by famed modern botanical explorer, Dan Hinkley. This plant is so new to cultivation that we're not yet sure if it's Begonia sizemoreae or actually a separate but closely related species! It has extraordinary rumpled leaves covered in bristly whisker-like hairs and it would make for an exquisite container plant. As a houseplant, it could happily be brought outside onto a shady deck or patio for the summer as it is reckoned to be hardy to at least Zone 9 or 8b.
