Vaccinium delavayi / Size: 5" pot

As a member of the familiar genus, Vaccinium, that includes blueberries, cranberries, and huckleberries, this low, compact shrub has year-round ornamental appeal. Pink buds open to small white bell-shaped flowers that turn into deep blue-black edible berries. Delavay's blueberry has tough leathery evergreen leaves that offer winter interest. Native to Myanmar and south-central China, it is noted as hardy to Zone 7 but may likely be even hardier. Like other blueberries, it prefers acidic soil. This diminutive plant that would be right at home in a rockery or alpine garden.
