Cornus florida 'Appalachian Spring' / Size: 1.75" trunk diameter, B&B root ball

Selected for its incredible resistance to anthracnose, a fungal disease known to devastate dogwood populations, while still displaying ornamental qualities of Cornus florida. It was first discovered by chance in Maryland's Catoctin Mountain Park and later introduced by the University of Tennessee's Dogwood Breeding Program. Showy white floral bracts emerge and expand in April/May, and shiny red fruit ripens in late summer/early autumn. Its bright apple-green spring and summer foliage is larger than average for the species. Leaves turn bold red and purple in autumn. Hardy to Zone 5, this lovely small tree reaches 20' tall and wide. Grown organically by the first field-grown tree nursery given Organic Certification by the USDA.

Tree delivery fees ranges from $350 - 600. See map. Please select your zone at checkout under "Large Plant Delivery." Your entire order is included in this fee.
