Schippia concolor / Size: 3 gal

This palm is descended from seed collected in Belize by renowned NYBG scientist Dr. Michael Balick in 1993. Schippia concolor is the sole member of its genus native to Belize and Guatemala and threatened in the wild by habitat destruction and still is uncommon in collections. This attractive fan palm has a narrow solitary trunk topped with a cluster of light-green leaves with silver undersides reaching about 10 feet tall at maturity. It makes an attractive landscape specimen or even a container specimen. (Zone 10-11)
