Asymmetry John Langdon symmetrically designed the "Asymmetry" ambigram and rendered it in a Rorschach-style ink-blot. The artist explains his close relationship to symmetry on the back of the poster. 10" x 24"
Optical Illusion is a print of a 2 x 6 foot Langdon painting. In this figure/ground ambigram the negative space of each word forms the other word, creating the experience of the concept in its design. 18" x 9"
Philosophy is one of Langdon's earliest ambigrams. Contrasting, complimentary ways of thinking about the concept reinforce the integrity of the design that reads the same right-side-up and up-side-down. 11" x 8"
*Professor Langdon is the fictional character of the Da Vinci Code, etc books by Dan Brown. The character is modeled on John Langdon, who created the ambigrams in Angels and Demons.
