What is the Semi-Annual FAB Sale?

The Semi-Annual FAB (Fill a Bag) Sale is held the first week of June and December each year. Due to COVID-19, the June sale has been postponed to August. The FAB Sale is the ultimate thrift sale and treasure hunt, providing contributors the opportunity to purchase an empty shopping bag and fill it with as much overstock boutique inventory as possible. This allows the team to organize the boutiques and prepare for the upcoming season.

Items include professional, business casual and everyday attire, along with some select vintage and formalwear finds. Funds raised will support boutique and mobile services for local women who are entering and returning to the workforce.

To ensure the safety of our clients, volunteers, staff and guests all guests must wear a mask and follow CDC social distancing guidelines. Those who do not comply will not be admitted.

Upon entry, each attendee will receive a contactless temperature check. In the event an attendee does have a temperature of 100.4 or above, they will not be admitted. See FAQ for additional details.

Parking Options:

Limited metered street parking is available. Limited free street parking is available on Morewood Ave. and Baum Blvd.

The parking garage on Morewood Avenue will be open to the public for $5 cash only. Tokens can be purchased in the loading dock upon returning to your vehicle. The token machine does not provide change, be sure to have the exact amount.

Exclusive FAB Presale, $45 Donation per bag

Registration is required. Purchase a bag for the time frame you are able to attend. Example: If you purchase a bag for the 11am-2pm session, your bag is only valid during the 11am-2pm time frame. If you'd like to attend both events, you must purchase a bag for the 11am-2pm session and also the 3pm-6pm session.

FAQ

Will I receive a ticket to bring to the event?

No. The event is entirely paperless. Attendees will check-in using their full name.

Do I need to bring my own bag?

No. The Allegheny Branch of Dress for Success Pittsburgh will provide a shopping bag for all attendees. Bags from home are not permitted.

Are there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event?

No. Due to CDC guidelines and alcohol consumption regulations, this year's Exclusive FAB Presale events taking place on Friday, August 7 will include individually wrapped snacks and bottled water. No alcohol will be served.

Will the event be CDC compliant?

Yes. To ensure the safety of our clients, volunteers, staff and guests all guests must wear a mask and follow CDC social distancing guidelines. Those who do not comply will not be admitted.

• Redeem their FAB bag at the next FAB sale in December.
• Donate their bag to a Dress for Success Pittsburgh client.

Exclusive FAB Presale bags must be purchased in advance. Exclusive FAB Presale bags will not be available at the door.

All FAB bags can be purchased online via credit/debit card, directly by cash or personal check made payable to Dress for Success Pittsburgh. Cashless payment methods are strongly encouraged.
