If you have attended previous galas in person, then you are probably familiar with the Skippack Creek Brewing Company (really it is just our VP of Education, Gene Halus, and his son Liam making home brewed beer). They donated the beer served at the Gala almost since its beginning, and contributed some for the auction as well. Gene makes the beer and Liam helps with bottling just so, in his own words, "Dad doesn't get all the credit and quality is assured."

This year Skippack Creek Brewing Company is offering a twelve pack of bomber bottles (equal to a full case of beer) containing two of its beers:

Skippack Farmhouse - If you are an novice to Saison style Belgian ales then this is a good beer to begin your journey. Brewed with Saaz and Styrian Goldings Hops and French yeast strain typically used for champagne. This beer produces a slightly tangy and earthy taste in the Saison tradition, but it also tends to be lighter and less tangy than most Saisons as it is fermented with local Montgomery County honey thereby giving it a slight fizz. As Gene is part of the local micro-brewing community, this beer led to some forthcoming local experiments by brewers (including one in Phoenixville) of making beer with strains of yeasts typically reserved for champagne. The six bottles of Skippack Farmhouse offered here are part of the original experimental batch and are now well-aged and ready to drink.

Minister Creek - A traditional Pale Ale with a clear, dry and slightly hoppy finish due to the use of Cascade and Perle hops. This is a beer complex in its simplicity, and if you have attended previous galas, you probably have partaken of an earlier version of this particular brew. It is brewed in the tradition of old style American Ales with a slight tip of the hat to German Alt style beer making it something that gets your attention but easily serves as an everyday beer.

Must be 21 or older to bid and able to pick up in person.
