A litho framed print with an engraved tag and documentation. Ready to hang. Print size 20x30. The beautiful "The Last Great March" was painted by the late John Gould, who had a long career in art. As both an artist and art instructor, John was a well known lecturer on art.

October 28, 1782 - A memorable day in the history of the American Revolution. This painting shows the long line of soldiers from the West Point area encampment marching past General Knox Headquarters in New Windsor, NY.

More than 8,000 men, with their equipment, marched to a destination just north of Vails Gate for a new encampment. They remained here during the closing days of the Revolution until late 1783. This place is known in history as the New Windsor Cantonment.
