Animal Depicted is Bootiful Girl and her story is below:

We had gotten a call about a dog that was living in an abandoned house. It was already really cold out, even though it was just the end of October. We started looking around for her when she got up from under the wooden steps and took off. We were able to follow her to a second abandoned house but she was able to get away and we lost her after that. The next day we set a trap at the original house but never had any luck with her coming back and going in. She had gone back to that second house but took off again as soon as we approached. This time though, we were able to follow her to an abandoned garage, where she had only one way out and we were able to block the door. Once leashed up, she quietly walked to the jeep. Once in the jeep she laid down and seemed to really enjoy the warmth and comfort. She looked like she might be pregnant, but after getting a vet exam and x-ray in our trauma center, it turned out that she was not pregnant, but filled with fluid because she was in heart failure from severe heartworm disease. She is now the sweetest, happiest dog! Her black spots make her look like an adorable little cow and her one blue eye is stunning! She remains a medical case at Stray Rescue during her heartworm treatment because there have been a few complications, and she must remain calm. We are hoping that once her heartworm treatment is completed, with lifelong heart medications she will be able to live a long, full, normal life! She wants nothing more than to play with other dogs, snuggle on the couch with her people and have a forever family! And we know that is in her near future! Until then, our staff and volunteers are spoiling her rotten and giving her so much love.
