Animal Depicted is Essendon and her story is below:
We got a call from a man who owned a large warehouse and said he saw a dog run in, so he closed the doors to keep her inside. When Donna arrived, she searched for a while with no luck. The warehouse was filled with giant drums on pallets, so there were lots of places this pup could have been hiding. Finally tucked between the metal drums, Donna finally saw her ears sticking up and saw that she was a beautiful German Shepherd. She was frightened but Donna was able to earn her trust enough to get a leash on her. Donna had taken one of our loyal volunteers, Lee, along with her to help with the rescue and this volunteer is originally from Australia which is how Essendon got her name, which is the name of an Australian Football Team! She is still at our shelter, waiting for her forever home, but she is spoiled and lives in the office of our Director of Development. She is still very shy and learning that she can trust humans. She has a volunteer friend, Sue, who often takes her for car rides and on trips to different parks and she's gaining so much confidence! We know that she will soon find her family!
