Animal Depicted is Fiona and her story is below:

We get more calls than you can imagine about people that move away and just abandon their animals.

I.Q. had been living in the backyard of the previous owners for six months. The yard was cluttered with old tires, twigs, old rusty metal scraps, pieces of vinyl fence and just miscellaneous trash. This girl had gotten used to the neighbors tossing food to her over the fence. This was her existence. Alone until someone tossed some food to her.

Finally, one neighbor decided that the little dog deserved more than this, so she wrote a handwritten letter and mailed it to Stray Rescue telling us her story and asking us to please help.

When we got there, we tossed a Vienna sausage over the fence, and she came running. She knew exactly what that meant. It must be feeding time! She was definitely interested in the food, but not interested in letting me get a slip lead on her. She sat patiently waiting for more food on her side of the chain link fence.

She outsmarted us for sure, backing up each time we tried the slip lead. Finally, we set the trap. She still circled the trap and sniffed before she decided to go in.

She will have to adjust to people because she had become so used to being alone. Eventually, she will find that perfect family. Until then, she is being loved and spoiled by the staff and volunteers at Stray Rescue.

Status: Adopted!
